Sivan’s Blanket

The inspiration for this learn-to-knit blanket came from a very special knitter’s choice of Warm Up America for her Bat Mitzvah project. In the spirit of Sivan’s project, this pattern is designed to encourage exploration of the craft and give the knitter an excellent foundation in a variety of common knitting techniques. Happy knitting! Sivan’s Blanket is a comprehensive learn-to-knit course in a single project. Each blanket square features specific skills followed by challenge squares to reinforce the concept. Skills range from knit-purl combinations to lace and cables stitches. The squares are then seamed together into a blanket to provide practice with common finishing techniques. Finally, an I-cord binding is added to the blanket edge to give a crisp, finished look.
